Here is a very attractive plate of fossil fish. There are two examples of Knightia eocaena on the slab. This fossil is from the famous Green River Formation of Wyoming. Both fish exhibit fine detail - the bone structure is clearly defined, and the fins and tails are easily seen. The fish have great orangish-brown color, which contrasts nicely with the cream-colored matrix. The fossils are well positioned on the large, squared plate of shale, swimming in the same direction. This is a fine specimen of two fossil herring from the Eocene.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally. A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
