Here is an unusual plate of fossil fish from the Eocene of Wyoming. There are two examples of Knightia eocaena on this slab. One fossil fish is complete and beautifully articulated. The bone structure is well defined and the fins are wonderfully displayed. The eye socket is easily seen and even the scale pattern of the fish is preserved. The other fish is disarticulated. The brown fish contrast nicely with the multi-colored matrix. The fish are nicely presented on the rectangular slab of shale that also contains a Stingray coprolite (poop). This is a fine display plate of fossil herring from the Green River Shale.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally. A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
